I joined the Weaver project

Since today, I’m now part of the Weaver project team.

What is Weaver ?

Weaver is an exiting and inovative new FPS project, based on the XReal engine (enhanced Q3/ioquake3 engine).

Weaver is a team based, online FPS, with stopwatch objective gameplay. The interesting thing about the game is that unlike other FPS, there’s no guns. Instead players cast spells, using combinations of mouse movements. The unique casting system, and the huge variety of spells will produce an interesting, challenging, and novel game. Combat will be q3/UT style, fast paced, with a number of spells reflecting weapons from these games. Game play will be focused on teamwork to achieve objectives, similar to that of W:ET and RTCW.

I will be helping out with programming, and I’m looking forward to this.

I have managed to crack RTCW 1.3 just like the WOLFTV, and now we are able to run punkbuster using 1.0.

New project: “Vampula: Blood Oath”

The ‘Wolfenstein: Vampiremod’ project has come to a stop.
We have decided to get rid of the ‘old’ Enemy Teritory engine, and buy our own licence of an engine.

And that’s exactly what we did, we have bought ourselves a copy of a C4 Engine licence.

The name of our developergroup is ‘Nitrogen Games’, and the name of the new project is ‘Vampula: Blood Oath’ (vampula = Vampire + Dracula ;) )

The game will most likely be published as a free game, and no NASA computers are needed to play it. The minimum requirements of the engine are very low(unlike other new generation engines) and the quality is great.

Mousetrap2 Open Beta

Heyho,

I think it’s time to release an open beta.
This one may not work for everyone, but that’s why need to test it.

If you want to test it, I would like to know a few things;

- Check if you can join my test server: 85.17.209.19:27960
- Does it effect the performance? (FPS lags?)
- What is your guid ? (use /testmt or /mt_list in my test server)
- Any other problems?

NOTE; I highly advice to remove your cheats/ don’t use them. Because when you do get banned, I will not unban you.

NOTE2: The server now checks for your cvars every 5 seconds, of course this will change to a longer interval, so don’t whine about that.

Mousetrap² update

October 17th, 2008

Here’s an update on the progress of the mousetrap² project.

- The mousetrap client now is able to communicate with mt_server.
All players which doesn’t have the mousetrap client will be kicked.

- The cvar restriction system is done.
Iit now has 4 cvars which will be checked:  
 ”cl_maxpackets”,
 ”snaps”,
 ”rate”,
 ”cl_timenudge”,
 ”cg_shadows”
The serveradmin can limit these cvars using these server cvars:
 ”mt_cl_maxpackets”,
 ”mt_snaps”,
 ”mt_rate”,
 ”mt_cl_timenudge”,
 ”mt_cg_shadows”

Example:
mt_cl_maxpackets “40 100″ //this will limit the cl_maxpackets cvar so it’s value has to be within 40 and 100
mt_snaps “20″ //this will limit the snaps cvar so it’s value has to be equal to 20

- The mousetrap client now checks on hacks and injectors.
You will be globaly banned when using injectors or hacks.
These ban are not to be discussed, once banned you can not enter any of the server which use mt_server.
Note, NO injector can be used, so no winamp plugin or http downloader.

Project Mousetrap² started

I have decided to drop the old Mousetrap-rtcw project, and rewrite the whole thing.
The new project is called Mousetrap², and will have alot of new features like:

  • Improved security
  • Online player database
  • Screenshotting
  • Cvar restrictions
  • Guids and IP banning
